LASC is recognized by PADI as Swim School Training Center with own Salt Water Swimming Pool, providing aquatic service in Malaysia. All of our instructors undergone rigorous testing and training to be accredited under the qualifications of PADI Swim School Training Center and Malaysia Lifesaving Society.
As we are focused on and ensuring the safety of all students in and around the water. We have our own facility dedicated to swimming instruction. We do not have to share our pool space with other swimmers.
Our approach is different from others as we believe that childrens can learn more effectively under a fun and friendly enviroment. They learn through interactive games to explore aquatic skills.
We believe that swimming lessons are a necessity for all. Knowing how to swim could potentially save life!
Our instructors undergone rigorous testing and training to be accredited under the qualifications of PADI Swim School Training Center and Malaysia Lifesaving Society. Also, all instructors are Emergency First Responders (First Aid and CPR) for adult and children care.
Our training program has been developed so that instructors are able to observe and work with all class levels. This also gives them the opportunity to interact with a variety of student personalities and temperaments. Crying, anxiety, and fearfulness can be expected of beginning swimmers and therefore, our instructors are trained to use a gentle and supportive approach to introducing them to the water.
We conduct classes during the following hours :
Wednesday – Friday: 1:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday – Sunday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
Please contact LA Swimming Center 013-6490128 for availability.
We offer variety of small group classes to ensure that our participants can receive more individualized attention and learn effectively.
Lessons can be taught in:
Our semi-private class size (4:1) allows time for each child to practice their skills throughout the lesson. Group classes also allow children time to interact socially with their peers and to learn through observing and demonstrating.
All lessons are viewed through our parent observation rooms. The rooms have mirrored glass windows so that the parents can see the pool clearly, but the swimmers cannot see in. We have found that children are easily distracted when a parent is present poolside. Our goal is for the children to focus on the instructor and on the lesson for the full 55 minutes.
No. We believe that abruptly removing your child from a lesson will only reinforce any anxieties or fears that are currently present. As with any new activity, it will take most children some time to become acclimated and comfortable with the environment and to develop a bond of trust with the instructor. Patience, reinforcement, and lots of love from LA Swimming Center staff members and from parents will help all children to become more comfortable with their surroundings and to develop a love for the water!
While continuous progression is ideal, we are aware that all people excel at different rates. We cannot tell you ahead of time how long it will take for you or your child to swim, but we will do our best to make progress as rapid and consistent as possible. Learning is a gradual and ongoing process. Therefore, we recommend maintaining classes throughout the year in order to maximize skill retention. The learning speed of each child will also depend on prior water experience, parental attitudes and expectations, acceptance of new learning situations, and the child’s natural learning abilities.
If one of our instructors is absent, then a substitute will be provided. All of our teachers are trained in the same program, so the routine of the class will be the same. We strive very hard to maintain continuity with our instructors but scheduling conflicts do arise. Please be open minded about substitutes so that your child will be as well.
LA Swimming Center does not offer trial lessons, instead we suggest you come in for a visit and watch a class. We will have a 20 minutes free water assessment upon registration to assess how comfortable the students in the water. From there, we will suggest which program you/ your child may start from.
We will provide floatation devices like noodles. Students are required to provide their own necessary swimming equipment such as goggles, float board and wear appropriate swim suit. For long hair’s student, you need to wear a swim cap. This is to avoid the hair will interfere your vision during swimming.
Each lesson is between 55 minutes to an hour.
We encourage infant aged from 6 months should start building water confidence level and ability to use their natural reflexes which already develop in the womb.
Research showed there is a reduction in drowning risk in kids ages 1-4 who had taken swimming lessons.
LASC are offering variety of swimming program for all age of range starting from 12months old.
